The public school system is needlessly complex and I cannot imagine navigating this process without Theresa’s help. She has been instrumental in helping us understand the process, access solutions that are best for our family and overall helped extend our limited capacity to get the best results for our daughter.

Theresa is truly a gift for any caregiver of a child with complex needs. I love that Theresa is direct and to the point, but also sensitive and understanding of my (lack of) knowledge for navigating new territory with my child's needs. Since she knows how overloaded parents are, at the end of our session, she followed up with clearly documented next steps for me.

Theresa has been an invaluable guide as we navigated Oregon’s special education system after moving from out of state. She met us exactly where we were - calmly laying out the landscape, advising us on our rights, and offering thoughtful strategies for how to advocate effectively in meetings. Her support through our child’s transition from early intervention to K-12 has both clarified a complicated process and also reminded us to approach it with patience, perspective, and confidence in the work we're doing as a family.

"Theresa helped my family access resources that we didn’t know were available, saving us hundreds of dollars a month. She was also able to help me in the complaint process so that my child could qualify for Medicaid. Theresa understands the disability world from the inside out, and because of that is extremely attuned, accommodating and kind in her communication. You really can’t understand this world unless you live it, and Theresa does."

We worked with Theresa to prepare for our daughter's Oregon Needs Assessment (ONA) through Developmental Disability services. Prior to our meeting I was so anxious about getting everything right and how the process would unfold. Theresa walked us through what we needed to know, and helped us understand the process. The ONA itself, a process that can be emotionally draining, ended up being easy and empowering for all of us. And now, our daughter has seemlessly transitioned to adult services. I’m so grateful we had her advocacy and insight!

Theresa says "You don't have to do this alone!" and she means it. I've had the pleasure of working with Theresa for the last year. Theresa has supported me in advocating for my children through multiple IEP meetings, a kindergarten transition, an evaluation and more emails than I can count. Theresa is knowledgeable about the special education process and systems in schools. She knows what questions to ask and how to phrase them.Theresa also knows just how hard it is to constantly be navigating, advocating and parenting. With her knowledge and compassion, Theresa has made sure I've never felt alone in advocating for my children.
